Kingsman: The Secret Service could get a sequelColin Firth and Taron Egerton could return for Kingsman: The Secret Service 2.
Director Matthew Vaughn and screenwriter Jane Goldman have been discussing some ideas for the follow-up, after the spy comedy won the prize for best British film at the Empire Film Awards.
Jane said: “We’re thrilled how people have responded to it and the response has been so great that certainly a sequel is being discussed.”

Actress Sophie Cookson, who made her big screen debut as trainee spy Roxy, added: “I know there are talks. The first one has gone down so well I think it would be crazy not to (do a sequel) so fingers crossed. I know Matthew’s cooking up some good ideas at the moment.”
Jane’s TV presenter husband Jonathan Ross added: “It is happening, I believe. They are talking very much about a Kingsman 2 now. I don’t think they have a firm plan or a date per se, but I’d be amazed if it didn’t happen.
“I know they’ve got other stories to tell and it’s been such a hit around the world. I was there when Matthew and Jane were throwing ideas around the kitchen table so I’m pretty sure there will be a sequel. I don’t know if it will be next year but it won’t be too far off.”
Jane played coy when she was asked about a Kingsman franchise.
She said: “We never go into something with the idea of making a franchise ever. Matthew and I are all about, ‘If we’ve got a good idea, let’s put it all in this first one’, because you never know if you’re going to do a sequel.
“Neither of us are huge fans of sequels. We put our hearts into writing this first Kingsman movie. We never had a plan for a franchise. That would be hubris.”
Kingsman: The Secret Service, based on Mark Millar’s graphic novels, stars Taron as a spy newcomer, who is being taught the tricks of the trade by mentor Harry Hart (played by Colin).
